Chesapeake Bay Story started as a partnership between the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) and the State of Maryland. This site's mission is to inform, inspire, and communicate the environmental efforts taken towards protecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Through the stories and graphics presented on the site, Chesapeake Bay Story is a way to acknowledge the successes and challenges the state has faced and how the involvement of local governments have helped engage the public in taking action to help the health of the Bay. Recent updates to the website reflect changes in policies, priorities, and goals as well as updated data availability. Moving forward, UMCES will regularly update this website so that it may act as a complementary resource to the annual Chesapeake Bay and Watershed Report Card.
